In our review of the last 10 years, Andy pointed out that these have been the most emotionally charged 10 years of our lives.
We both lost parents - both of whom were outlived by their own mothers.
My grandma died.
Andy lost two of his grandparents.
We adopted Wyatt and Julia.
We lost a brother-in-law.
We faced a complete shift and location change for Andy's job.
We faced complete upheaval with my job.
We were blessed to keep our jobs, but we certainly felt and continue to feel the turmoil of our nation's economy and its impact on our family budget.
We saw Zach from kindergarten to high school and Savannah from preschool to 8th grade.
We moved.
What a decade!
He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness the prisoners, to proclaim the year of our Lord's favor, and the day of vengeance for our God, to comfort all who mourn, and provide for those who grieve in Zion -to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of despair. Isaiah 61:1-3 (NIV)

I welcome comments, but because I am a high school teacher, I do check them before they are posted.
